Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Life Coaching Services – What you need to know.
Sydney Counselling and Life Coaching (SCLC) will use its best efforts to resolve presenting issues during counselling sessions.
All services offered by SCLC are offered in good faith and any assistance provided in any interaction with the Client (You) should not be construed as a substitute for other professional advice given by medical practitioners or allied health professionals in relation to your physical or mental health. In all cases, it is the responsibility of each Client to seek appropriate professional treatment for any symptoms of disease or disorder they may be experiencing. SCLC may advise its Client to seek other professional advice in the interests of the Client’s well-being.
The Client accepts that SCLC does not accept any liability or responsibility for any consequences of a Client’s use of its services, either beneficial or otherwise, as it is not in control of the action(s) taken by a Client subsequent to any consultation.
Privacy and Confidentiality
As part of providing a counselling, life coaching, or psychotherapy service, SCLC or its employees, associates or partners will need to collect and record personal information that is relevant to a Client’s presenting issues. This information is a necessary part of the consultative service provided to the Client. All personal information gathered during the provision of the counselling and/or life coaching or psychotherapy service will remain confidential and secure unless compelled to do so by law. Documents are stored in a safe environment away from the counselling sites to ensure privacy and confidentiality. Electronic records are accessed by encrypted passwords with additional internet privacy security in place.
The Client agrees not to record by any means any session or part thereof including note taking between SCLC its employees, associates, or partners by any means except if agreed to with SCLC its employees, associates, or partners. Failure to do so would constitute a severe breach of confidentiality.
Costs are incurred in delivering a service to you. A consultation fee is payable for each scheduled session by cash, Mastercard or Visa or electronic funds transfer and payable at the time of the appointment.
Internet based or telephone appointments e.g., Skype or Zoom are required to be paid in full prior to the commencement of the counselling session. This payment may be made by Mastercard, Visa or electronic funds transfer.
Appointment Cancellation Policy
If it is necessary to cancel or postpone the next scheduled appointment the Client agrees to advise SCLC of the cancellation or rescheduling at least 24 hours before the next scheduled appointment.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the entire fee being payable and the Client agrees to pay that amount in full. The cancellation fee is payable immediately by cash, Mastercard, Visa or electronic funds transfer. SCLC reserve the right to impose or not impose the cancellation fee at its discretion.
Failure to attend an appointment without prior notice of non-attendance is deemed a cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice and will incur the entire fee being payable. The Client agrees to pay that amount in full by cash, Mastercard, Visa or electronic funds transfer. SCLC reserve the right to impose or not impose the cancellation fee at its discretion.
Non-payment of cancellation fees and/or counselling sessions will incur an interest charge of 22% per annum compounded monthly. SCLC reserve the right to impose or not impose the interest charge fee at its discretion. Non-payment will result in SCLC seeking restitution through debt collection agencies after 2 months.
If you have any questions, please speak to your counsellor. The Client (You) agree to these counselling terms before proceeding.
